I really like wool skein. Will it look okay with BM White Dove? That is my existing trim color.
Yes. If you look at the data in this spreadsheet, you'll see that Wool Skein and White Dove belong to the same hue family. In terms of hue family number and letter, they're very similar.
You have to be careful combining whites that are too similar in terms of hue family.
However, if we look at the Chroma values for these two colors (highlighted in green and outlined in red) you can see that Wool Skein has a lot more chroma or colorfulness than White Dove.
And this is why it will work.
If Wool Skein had a lower chroma number, if it were less colorful, more neutral and closer to being a true neutral white, then we'd have to be concerned about it on the walls and making White Dove look dirty and dingy.
As long as the wall color has more chroma, is more colorful than the white that is on the trim, then the white trim color will not look dirty or dingy.
