I agree with mtn, MCM has peaked, at least for the younger set, because the prices are crazy for the best stuff and pretty crazy for the mainstream pieces and styles. My 24 year old, who previousy had an affinity for what I can only describe as ”50’s diner chic” all through HS and college, now thinks that’s for ”rich millenials”. We have great thrift stores in our area, and I’m always on the lookout for stuff for her, as she’s househunting at her new USCG station. I found a box of these dishes for $5, service for 12, in great condition, and texted her a pic, she responded immediately saying ”OMG, yes”. She also loves Harvest Gold and Coppertone appliances, and is hoping for a house with 70’s appliances ”in a cool color”. Starting to think we should all invest in 80’s ”bescarfed geese” items, as that’s gotta be next.
