Master Bedroom
I so love falling to sleep in bed with a good book and fire burning down to embers. I love it so much that in one apartment I moved my bedroom to the living room that had a fire place and a view out to a busy main street in Albuquerque, NM. Meanwhile, what had served as the bedroom had a had sliding glass doors leading to the balcony and had a picture perfect view of the Sandias. As far as I'm concerned, the different area change also changed the value of the rental soaring to far beyond what I could ever hope to afford. The moral to this? Don't be afraid to correct whatever the architect got wrong.
What I love about this is the rug and divan but in all honestly the divan is all about stacking laundry. That is probably because we don't have the scenery in this photo. However, I intend on placing a hottub or jacuzzi outside out bedroom window. I plan on a semi-enclosed garden setting. That makes me reconsider the divan and reconcile the fact that 'fainting couches' just doesn't suit our life style, Mmm.. move the reading chairs to the window and keep the carpet. Yup! sounds like a winner to me.
The wall, the bubbles, the texture on the fire place and the bed drapes. The ceiling is to die for. If I can recreate the effect for our current ceiling I will. Edging the sheets in a low sheen but a slightly tonal different satin is always a winner. ( I learned this from edging my son's baby blanket several times. ) I think I could emulate this tonal difference of the fireplace to where the tv is installed now. That would be quite nice! I don't like the chairs or that they are without ottomans, but that is personal. I feel that bedrooms, even masculine bedrooms that have angular lines in the setting should be softened with the upholstered furnishings. That is why I would have chosen a sort of zigzag shape ottoman-and-side-table piece of furnishing; so that two people would have a hard surface to set their beverages and books while still having a soft surface to rest their feet and perhaps play footsie. It would be especially nice if it repeated the structure of the bed.
This was a the vision I had for the bedroom in a house we didn't buy
