There’s an emphasis on sustainability?
Stewardship is in our collective consciousness. It motivates us to invent and is embedded into our culture. The thoughts and activities around sustainability today aren’t something we added recently as it became popular. It has been in our core psyche from the start.

What’s the process of manufacturing?
The process starts with the recycling of plastic containers. The containers are washed and dried and processed into pellets, from which we make the lumber. Then with the dimensional Polywood lumber and stainless steel screws, we make furniture and ship directly to consumers. From start to finish, all of the scraps, cutouts and defects are ground up and put right back into the process. We use 100% of all the material. Even the floor sweepings are sold to a company that makes plastic pavers.
More Product Picks*: South Beach 26” Counter Side Table, Vineyard 9-Piece Dining Set, Ivy Terrace Classics Folding Adirondack

Why start Polywood?
We started Polywood during the Keep America Beautiful campaign in which curbside recycling began. At that time, mountains of recycled containers were instantaneously available and became a problem in need of a solution. Coming up with an entrepreneurial solution birthed our lumber made from recycled plastic.
