Riley Deck/Porch/Patio Landscaping ideas
I like the double deck, the partially-enclosed upper deck, the pool that is off to the side. This is close to how I envision our house in the future. Minus the fact that it’s a different style house than ours, so stylistically it’s different, but the bones and structure of it are similar to what I’d envision.
Side yard/garage/driveway area.
Maybe a look for the side yard where the fence is? This would look more "front entrance-like".
Another side yard/front yard idea? I don't like the grasses, but I like the layering along the pathway and the seating area.
Love this seemless indoor to outdoor transition.
For the side yard or front yard? Simple plantings, neat hedges, some softness to it.
Side yard entry? I like the color and the gate is pretty.
I like the colors here and how cozy and inviting this feels.
Screened-in deck ideas.
Back deck ideas. I always thought a porch swing would be nice to have.
More back deck ideas.
Another idea for the deck.
This is just an idea for the back deck - creating a covered area over the bigger part of the deck, which could then be used for entertaining. Our deck likely just needs to be replaced eventually, so just thinking through what that might look like.
Saving this strictly because I like the colors. Otherwise it's too modern.
THIS is cool! A retractable screen to keep out bugs? But all I can think about is how long it would take for the motor to burn out after my my kids decided it was a fun thing to play with...
I like the colors here and the covered entertaining space right off the back of the house. I also like how neat the landscaping is, although it is quite sparse with too much mulch space - that is just weed heaven.
I love the bright and airy colors of the patio space. Also that it is a large, covered, entertaining and enjoyment space. You can use it, even in inclement weather. I'd want fans though to help keep bugs away.
Ignore the fire pit and the stools, what I like here is the koi pond. It is set nicely into the ground, has natural stones around it, but it also has clean, tidy landscaping around it and the hardscaping integrates well with the pond.
I like how the deck extends into the hardscaped area and offers a sitting space above the scene. As I see it now, I do see a wall around the koi pond. I think I would like it more set into the ground, but this does give it a nice defined separation.
I like the waterfall to pond, which is similar to what we have now. The birds enjoy using it as a bird bath and it is really relaxing to sit outside and listen to it. I think the larger stones might last longer than a stone wall, which is what we have now.
It looks like there is a koi pond in the back of this picture. I don't like that it is all stone, but I do like how it is neat and tidy around the koi pond and the patio, but still has touches of color. Then it gets a little "wilder" farther away with some flowering plants/bushes.
Lighting. Combination of clean lines with some whimsy. Looks lower maintenance. There is a feel of a charming path to a remote retreat. The fireplace in the back gives a sense of a gathering/entertaining space.
Idea for the sitting area near the pond.
