Roundover
Softening the edge of a table, shelf or frame, roundovers have curve appeal
Roundovers are softened and rounded profiles on the top or bottom corner of an edge. You'll see them on tabletops, desks and frames — generally on any edge where a sharp corner isn't desirable. They are often created with roundover bits fitted in a router, often in a ⅛-inch or ¼-inch radius size. Roundovers also can be created by sanding, but they aren't necessarily as precise when done that way.
A roundover is generally made around the top edge of an exposed part.
A roundover creates a comfortable edge that won't jab someone whose arms are resting on a table.
The roundover on this coffee table has a slight raised profile at the top, creating an attractive detail.
