New Cumberland House
This was just a neat looking little nook -- added some uniqueness to the space.
Nice looking pantry -- I like the transom windows
I like that this kitchen has a lot of extra counter space that can be used for permanent things like coffee maker, toaster, etc without getting in the way of the cooking or cleaning prep areas.
Neat hidden room in the eaves
Cool hidden door in the bookcase
For home office, I like the bookcases around the window and the windowseat underneath.
Like the windows and layout. Also an example of guests being perpendicular to the stove while someone cooks so the cook doesn't have their back to everyone.
Lots of counter space and light. Don't like the "walls" coming down on either side of the stove.
Behind the stove/oven wall in the green kitchen -- interesting layout and I like the abundant counter space and the unique layout (though I wonder if the fridge being so removed is a PITA). Just pointing out this as an example of more unique layouts.
There's a lot I'm not a fan of in this pic: the colors, the oven creating a wall against the stove, lack of prep/cook space around the stove. But I do think it's interesting how the space wraps around behind the wall to create more counter space an storage (there's another picture in this set that shows behind that wall).
Like lots of light and windows, like that there's a lot of counter space. Main sink for dishes is out of the way so it's not front and center. Like that there's seating at the island, but would prefer that cook at the stove not have their back to guests. Ambivalent about a prep sink in the island (esp if there's a sink in the bar area). Also like that there's a drop zone/mud room easily accessible to kitchen.
Nice cookbook storage in the kitchen. Also like that the stairs are outside of the kitchen instead of leading directly into the kitchen (also like windows).
I like the amount of natural light and windows in this kitchen. Doubtful that we would want cabinets that reach all the way down to the counter, but I like that there's space around the stove and sink to work and pile up used/drying dishes.
House around the corner from us on Jameston -- we like the style and uniqueness and the combo of materials.
