Once you stop treating a pink sofa like it's a special case then the creative juices will flow. I wanted to keep my pink 8 way hand tied office sofa, but was looking to freshen up the decor in my office without a major remodel. I was told by most Houzzers to get rid of my pink sofa. Many could not see it working with an updated style especially the British Colonial design I was considering. Yes, I had to consider what colors would compliment the sofa, but pink can work in many applications. I reupholstered my desk chair in some leftover fabric I had which I still really liked. Again, Houzzers didn't like my fabric. Get some ideas from the suggestions you receive and then move in a direction that feels right to YOU. I couldn't get too funky, or crazy since my office is used for business. My collectables are conversation pieces and clients and visitors enjoy looking at them. Houzzers told me to get rid of my collectables. I enjoy my collectables, so they stayed. Your sofa can work in your space. Treat it more like a neutral color with some consideration to what works with pink. Think about a throw, some pillows, a multi colored fabric ottoman(s) to tie things together since you have solid wall to wall carpet. Don't let the pink or the style or negative remarks stifle you. Get creative, and enjoy the process of bringing in new things to see how they look.
