We went with white Corian last year, mainly thanks to Joe and a few others here at Houzz. Our family needed something nearly bulletproof and repairable, but also a softer surface than stone because of dropped dishes. I decided on solid surface before engaging a KD, and she was surprised when I told her we were doing Corian. I think she and the GC had their eyes opened a bit regarding solid surface (in a good way). A friend in the business was also surprised, and she said something like "let me look into Corian and get back to you. I think there is some kind of issue with it," but she never did get back to me. Maybe she couldn't find the mythical "issue" with Corian? Lol. And our neighbor, who is a cabinet/kitchen guy, and very fussy, said "I love this counter! What IS is?" when he saw it. I am so glad I went with it. We also did a SS undermount sink (Karran Edge, also recommended by Joe), and we love that too.
Our counters are Glacier White, which is probably cooler than what you want, but there seem to be plenty of creamy whites as well. I would order a bunch of samples.

YUCK - I don't like the contrasting grout.
