No!! Painters and paint store often tell you they can have a color match done, but from years of experience I can tell you that it's impossible for them to get it EXACT.
In many instances it's close enough not to matter...however...I've seen cases where it affects the look a great deal.
Once a homeowner hired us AFTER they faced issues with their paint crew, saying that a massive two story area didn't look right. The painters switched brands thinking it wouldn't matter.
We avoid those type situations by specifying the paint names, numbers AND THE BRAND in writing, so there's no miscommunication. If there's sufficient communication up front, you can avoid any disappointments later on!
