Monarch Butterfly Rescue
Raising endangered Monarch caterpillars indoors from egg to chrysalis, then releasing the adult butterflies.
Monarch caterpillar w/large black spot was isolated & monitored. It was healthy! It became a beautiful butterfly!
Floral tubes & plastic egg cartons used to hold swamp Milkweed leaves to feed Monarch Butterflies.
Monarch caterpillar attached itself to leaf, went into “j”. The next day it stretched out straight and all of it’s liquified insides fell out of its skin. Later, it’s skin dropped off the leaf too.
Short juice containers used to hold Milkweed cuttings to feed Monarch caterpillars. Good because the frass (poop) rolls onto the floor. Bad because the bottle neck is small so you have to replenish the water 2x/day! I replenish the water w/a large plastic syringe through another hole in lid so I don’t have to unscrew the cap.
