Modern. Seating is great! Love the color change under the bench.

having a hearth on both sides (entry and living room) provides place for people to sit while putting on shoes as well as additional seating in the LR.

Shelves on ends. Interesting idea.

I like the hearth that goes all the way around. Extra seating in the Great Room and seating for people to take shoes on and off in the entryway

Bench/hearth with contrasting area below. This time in wood! Similar to another photo I just saved.

Fireplace off to side strategically hides the main seating area from view of front door. But, will this lead people to walk around it to the left? *** Looking deep into this photo, it appears the layout of the rooms and ceiling height changes are similar to ours.

Interesting. Maybe the fireplace 'wall' doesn't need to go to the ceiling. It could still be divider between entry and living room, but half way will allow more light to flow. Also, though, I'd still want a see-through fireplace, or 3 open sides (with glass) for even more light to pass.

3-sided fireplace - see through so doesn't completely block view from front door. Also heats both sides
Modern. Seating is great! Love the color change under the bench.
