Finishing Touches: A Holiday Tour Of Fine Homes (Atherton, California)
Atherton, California is located on the peninsula nestled between the San Francisco Bay and the Pacific Ocean. The town begins in the flatlands then moves westward to the hills, until it reaches Highway 280. Beautiful foliage, elegant gardens and heritage trees dominate this quiet small community.
Just a few miles away from Stanford University and located in the heart of Silicon Valley, the Town of Atherton desires to preserve its character as a scenic, rural, thickly-wooded, residential area, with abundant open space with streets designed primarily as scenic routes rather than for speed of travel.

The Junior League of Palo Alto - Mid Peninsula gave us a sneak peek of their annual fundraiser and house tour: Finishing Touches - A Holiday Tour Of Fine Homes.
The homes went through a selection process by a team of Junior League volunteers and committee members. The team looked for homes that had architectural history, distinguished decor, varying styles and unique qualities.
Once selected, the homeowner and their designer went to work transforming and creating a holiday dreamland. From fresh garland to magnificent trees, these four homes spark creativity and holiday ideas that you can incorporate in YOUR home decor this season.
Fresh garland seems to be a running theme throughout these homes. Depending on where you live, garland can be purchased (or cut) and gathered upon the staircase.
Is there anything better than the smell of fresh garland in your living room? Consider placing garland around your fireplace!
Also, displaying garland around the exterior of your home creates a warm, inviting and welcoming entrance.
Decorating The Holiday Table
Fresh cut (or silk) flowers surrounded by gold and white plates. This table is simply elegant, yet understated. As they say, "sometimes less is more".
