I would like to chime in on BM Advance in general. I used it on some cabinetry but followed the instructions precisely and it looked beautiful and durable. I would recommend it only if you are patient and willing to wait the required amount of time between coats, sand and wipe with tack cloth in between coats and understand that it is not a water-based paint. I also made sure my environment was air conditioned. Too hot weather will dry paint too quickly and you will see brushstrokes. It's work but ultimately a lovely finish. I would use semi-gloss first, satin second but that's a personal preference. P.S. To clarify, Advance is an alkyd-based paint but you can use water to clean up.
