My new countertops...granite was the original idea, but no matter how contemporary the cabinets, granite just "traditionals" them up -- so...going with the consistent coloration of the silestone. the brown flecks go with the floor tile, the bluish and greenish flecks go with the walls and give future owners lots of options for wall colors. The white is clean and goes with the white cabinets -- all good. :-)

Cabinet color is the the color of all the trim and all the doors in my house -- it is a beautiful warm off white. I had the dulux color copied by computer and use Benjamin Moore Satin Impervo -- in latex. The oil based version of Impervo wears like iron. The latex version is a little more delicate, but has stood up to a decade of wear.
Love this kitchen. The half wall on top of the counter allows the backsplash to end in a corner instead of out in the room, the peninsula is beautiful with the waterfall -- mine is going to waterfall as well. I will not have drawers facing the breakfast nook, but will have a standard lower cupboard with drawer.
