Thank you Yalemichmom. Your comments are very helpful, and it sounds like we have similar situations. We are currently empty nesters (except 1 has just moved back home). We have 2 boys so sharing a single sink was not a problem. We are renovating the master bath now, so this picture is really messy as we are all in the hall bath - and the leak under the sink was being fixed which is why the door is missing (is a pull out door with a clothes hamper setup).
I agree that 2 sinks near the wall seem tight. I like the single sink option, but everyone seems to be telling me that double sinks are popular for resale. But in my small bathroom, with only a window over the tub wall, it's rather tight and dark.
I appreciate your comments. I think it makes sense to go with a single small rectangular sink with a door setup below, and a bank of drawers on either side. I will miss the space in that small horizontal cabinet over the sink, but assume I can find some type of medicine cabinet to help with some additional space.
BTW, I love your navy credenza. I'm thinking medium gray or navy for mine, going for a transitional clean look leaning towards the modern side. Would love to see pictures of your bath once its complete.
Thanks again.
