I’m all for involving her, but the best advice I got was to give kids choices when it comes to paint colors — e.g., a grayed aqua like SW Sea Salt vs. a super intense bright teal. Pick bedding and curtains first, paint last. Headboard would be a big upgrade - upholstered headboards are nice for sitting in bed reading, etc. My daughter has always liked nice wall art, my son not so much. With him, I at least insist on framing his Pokémon posters and not just taping them to the wall. If you have room for a small desk, that may be nice for crafts or homework. If not, I don’t think it’s a big deal. The kitchen table works well, too.
