This Canadian, over 25 years on private and government pensions, has heard from some while discussing financial planning issues that by contributing something like 20 - 25% of their income to churches, charities and political parties ...
... they were able to reduce their income tax load to close to nil.
Some say that's a lot to give to charity, but I say, well, what percent is going to income tax?
How about recalculating last year's income tax assuming you gave half of the income tax you paid to church or charities, and see how much of it came out of your pocket and how much from the income tax office.
