Sunroom Drapes and Cushions
My parents generously gave me a set of bamboo furniture that was previously owned by my grandparents and used for many years in their breezeway connecting their house to the garage. It always reminded me of their annual trips to Florida for several months each winter with its tropical patterned cushions. The cushions needed replacing so I explored options, one of them including sunbrella fabrics from a local outdoor furniture company. Then a trusted advisor, my kitchen designer Sue Booth of Vintage Kitchens, suggested barkcloth fabric, which opened a whole new world of possibilities!
In my search for barkcloth fabrics, I read posts in Pam Kueber's Retro Renovation website, https://www.retrorenovation.com. Great source material here! I found Brian Walsh of Florida Bungalow, who offers a multitude of vintage barkcloth on Etsy and eBay. He offered just the thing, a barkcloth fabric for the drapes with creamy hibiscus and butterflies on a blue-green ground. Perfect!
Welcome to my home!
