Hurricane Florence: How You Can Help
You can donate to groups offering disaster relief to storm victims. Also: how to help victims of Super Typhoon Mangkhut
Residents of the Carolinas and Virginia are grappling with dangerous floodwaters and record-breaking rains from Hurricane Florence, which made landfall Sept. 17 and has been blamed for more than 30 deaths so far. Though it has been downgraded to a tropical depression, Florence remains a threat as rivers rise and flooding inundates the region.
You can help by donating money to nonprofit groups that are assisting with rescues and providing food, shelter and other necessities. Relief organizations are also providing aid to victims of Super Typhoon Manghut, which has claimed scores of lives and damaged homes and other structures in Guam, the Philippines, Hong Kong, Macau and China.
