Use a Rev-a-Shelf insert for a drawer for your spices. I have one and it's SO easy to see what I have and to organize it.
It could have fit my drawer perfectly, but I re-used the one I had in my old drawer, which was a bit narrower. Don't mind that gap on the side enough to buy a new one.
Yes, it's right next to my stove, but my stove is old (71 years old!), has excellent insulation and the cabinet frame and drawers are thick. I've never felt a "warm" spice bottle in my drawer.
One pull-out I adore is this one. Again, it's by Rev-a-Shelf.
I removed one shelf as I wanted my oils and vinegars on the bottom. I LOVE this thing! No pots of spoons/spatulas, no bottles of oil and vinegar on the counter next to my stove, but still just as conveniently close. It only needed a 6" space. I got mine "new-in-box" on eBay and saved a ton.
Yes, drawers other than that. The one cabinet you see is where my trays are located. But inside I put a pull-out drawer above them for pot lids and pot holders. LOVE my kitchen and it's "extras"!
