DuChateau offers European White Oak, quercus robur and others, in a 7-9.5" plank depending on product line. Character grade will have small knots. Flat cut. This species has less open grain than the White Oak, quercus alba, used by Mirage for Muse products. Alba is harder than robur. Mirage used a 3mm or 3/32 nominal top layer of hardwood with a 9mm SPF core underneath. SPF is softwood spruce, pine, fir. The Mirage Dreamville line uses Red Oak that has been lightened with a product like Bona Red Out to get a similar look to European Oak, imo. Mirage has Exclusive grade with less knots, etc. than the Character grade they also offer. All flooring is produced in Canada. DuChateau receives product from eight producers located in different Asian countries including Cambodia, Thailand and others. The core is eucalyptus plywood 11mm thick - hardwood. 4mm top layer of European Oak. UV lacquer with no name brand attached, The Martin Bullard Collection has light tone colors I would look at.
