And this is why you don’t do “built in”. You do fully integrated. Not only do you see the metal frame here, but the use of a side by side at all gets a big fat F. If they’d used a french door, it would have been far more functional, and there would have been visual symmetry. You might as well do stainless as do this.
Whose freaking terrible idea was this? There was an opportunity to get natural light and windows IN the kitchen, and someone picked making a too narrow hsllwY crammed full of ovens?? Who do they have doing their design work? Whomever it is, don’t use them. Maybe use the builder. Maybe. But ask about this first. It’s just so egregiously awful that everyone involved should be ashamed.
Everyone has the SAME kitchen, with the obligatory ugly hood, obligatory oversized pendants, obligatory cCONTINENT, and with the cleanup and prep zones mixed. A kitchen this big could be so much better if they had a designer involved on the front end. Linds @The Cook’s Kitchen will get you something spectacular, but FUNCTIONAL. I promise. I pick my recommended Pros carefully.
Here’s where spending some more money would have made a much better impact. The LaCantina doors, and opening up that space the whole length wouldn’t have even taken a bunch of extra expense as that’s a gable end, not a side wall. I think Marvin and a few others have those types of doors now. Point to research.
This facade is better than the other two because the awful overheight roof here actually does have a second floor. When a house plan gets almost as wide as it is long, you get bloated overheight roofs as a result. Usually just auto roofed with trusses by some sadsack CAD operator. This at least attempts to remedy that design issue by recapturing some of that space.
Notice the repeat pattern on the ceramic floor? More evidence that whomever does the tile here is a hack. You DO NOT want to use his tilers if you decide to go with this guy. He needs to quit hiring corner standers from Homey Cheapo. What a peculiar layout. You can see that they don’t have a designer involved.
You can see the lippage from here. Terrible tile work, and they probably never heard of Schluter. You won’t ever get that type of upgrade from a builder unless the architect does the specs on the front end and specify it. Most builders slap up a Hail Mary coat of red guard and good luck when their warranty runs out.
No. Just no. If that’s the builder?? And his social media person didn’t coach him to never be in the shots? Especially in a golf short. Amirite? The bath is also a big NO. It’s really to big, and that white cabinet in the middle is an afterthought.
You can tell the quality, and it isn’t worthy of the price they are charging. This kitchen is seriously unworthy of the home’s price tag. You need to work with a real Kitchen Designer. I’ll bring in Linda at The Cook’s Kitchen. She’ll create a fabulous kitchen for you.
Seriously awful example of a floor.
One of the worst “site finished” jobs that I have seen. Or else no one cleaned up b fire the photoshoot. Neither is acceptable. Notice the poor culling of the material.
See what happens on a spec build when someone without a designer on board tries for the popular looks? You’ve got blue gray cabinets clashing with pink travertine. I don’t think this is the guy to use unless you pay for additional design help.
1998 called and wants their travertine back. Don’t you dare let anyone talk you into doing this. Especially the poor quality that is used here.
Gabby, if you’re going to do a Counter between walls, get a better fabricator than they use. The reason they did those hideous splashes is because the fabricator left gaps that were too big.
Formal home with inappropriate rustic wood. Don’t mix the two.
See, this is what you DON’T want. Ring around the roses with all of the points of the triangle on opposite walls. This is an EXHAUSTING kitchen to work in. But probably no one cooks in it anyway. There IS such a thing as too big. And this is it. And poorly designed. Don’t know who does their kitchen design work. But we wouldn’t let them touch your project. Linda @The Cooks Kitchen did my rentals. And a lot of other stuff too. She won’t make yours where you need roller skates.
