I'm not really sure what "coastal farmhouse" style is. Do you have some inspiration photos? I don't mind the wall color - although on my monitor I can't really tell if it's yellow, cream or beige. Do you want to change it? I don't think you need to, but sometimes we just need a change. Something more fresh, like a greige (not a white, but not quite a grey or beige) could be fun. Or Silver Sage or Sea Salt would look nice and it would work with your furniture, but make sure to test it out first because in my experience, those colors need just the right lighting to get it right.
I think a better furniture arrangement would help - can you create a conversation area? Do you watch TV in this room? If so, where is it? If you're keeping the art above the sofa, I think you need to lower it quite a bit, so that the bottom of the art is 6" or so above the top of the sofa.
What are your window treatments? Wood blinds? Woven blinds might be a bit more current but I know it's expensive to change them out.
Does the dining area also function as a classroom and/or office? Is that a desk just out of site by the dining table? I would remove the table cloth and globes and probably the gold framed mirror, and lower the art above the sideboard. I would also remove the bar cart, and if you need bar items in the room, put them on the sideboard on a nice tray or something. Do you need the cubby unit in there? It doesn't really seem to go with the rest of the stuff. I would do something more interesting with the rug - maybe you could find something you like and pull a color from it for your walls. If you like a plant in there, I would get one that looks a bit more lush and put it in a cool pot.
And new chandeliers would be great! I wouldn't really know where to start with those, though, because I'm not sure what coastal farmhouse is. There is one light fixture I think might look good in your dining room, but I'm not sure where it's from off the top of my head and I don't have time to look it up right now. But look up a blog called The Lilypad Cottage. The gal there just built a new house on a small lake not too far from me that is gorgeous - she has a cool black chandelier in her living room. Maybe you could do something like that with coordinating lighting for your foyer.
