For those of us who love great design, few things are more exciting than getting to see what's new and next at High Point Market. If what we saw this time was any indication, the design future for the remainder of 2013 is looking very bright! Metallics and outdoor-inspired pieces stole the show, and accessories that make a room abounded. If you're looking to freshen your home's look, any of these stunners would do the trick. Here are a few of our favorite items from some of the standout collections in High Point. We hope you're as dazzled as we were! — Kristy and Beth from Design Chic
Arteriors Diallo 30 inch 8-Light Chandelier in White Lacquer - $3,745.00
It's always hard to pick favorites, but if we had to pick one, this coral fixture from Arteriors would probably be it. The pictures don't do it justice, as it is jaw-dropping! It needs to be the centerpiece of a fabulous beach home's entrance foyer.
Altus Pugs
Even if you aren't a University of Georgia fan, these bulldogs are super chic. They would make great bookends, but instead of hiding them away, we'd put them on a coffee table as a fantastic conversation piece.
Loulou Chandelier
This Loulou chandelier from Currey and Company is one of those fabulous pieces that combines the classic with the contemporary. It has the timelessness of a crystal chandelier with a feeling of youthfulness. It's perfect for over a grand dining table.
George V Chandelier
We do love a touch of gold, and this George V fixture from Currey and Company certainly shines in a sea of fixtures. We would love this contemporary piece in a traditional formal living room.
White Shell Obelisk
This white shell obelisk from Karen Robertson Design would be right at home on a beach house coffee table. It is the ideal way to add that height that can be tricky.
Ro Sham Beaux Frankie Malibu Chandelier
As you can tell, we think lighting stole the show at this year's Market. If cost is no object, the Frankie Malibu chandelier by Ro Sham Beaux is a gorgeous way to add color and interest to the ceiling.
Blue Grotto Work
The intricacy of this Blue Grotto work by Karen Robertson Design is truly something to behold. It is the perfect soothing blue to complement a little water out the window.
Shell Grotto Work
Neutral art with loads of personality can be hard to come by. This work may be made of shells, but we would use it in any home for a splash of the unexpected.
Worlds Away Willa Oval Cigar Table
This Willa cigar tray from Worlds Away is a perfect alternative to a boring end table. It has a sweet size for between a pair of club chairs.
24-by-24-Inch Sea Fan
These sea fans come in every shade imaginable, so there's one for every decor. We would use a grouping in a guest bedroom for a reminder of the great outdoors.
Ivory Gator Turtles
We absolutely love turtle shells. We also love turtles, which is why we're so happy that these ivory gator turtle shells by Karen Robertson Design are faux. A grouping over a doorway would be the ideal way to add punch to a completely overlooked area.
Mr. Brown Hanover Chandelier
We've never been afraid of mixing metallics — and neither is Mr. Brown. This Hanover chandelier is a beautiful combination of antique brass and a soft gray urchin bone. It's named for London's lovely Hanover Square, but we'd like to see it over a round table.
Made Goods Dawson Object, Jade
This Dawson object from Made Goods is a stunning mix of classic and chic. The jade makes it a true focal point.
Made Goods Harper Chandelier
We are positively drooling over this Harper chandelier from Made Goods. Whereas solid gold can seem heavy, the feather design instantly adds a lightness. We can see this piece over a Lucite breakfast room table.
Sliced Tibia Shells
We so often only see the outside of a shell. These sliced spindle shells give us an opportunity to see every layer of some of nature's finest masterpieces. We love that these are framed with a clear matte, so your hard-picked wall color becomes the perfect background.
Made Goods Sarea Chandelier
The right light can make a living room. This Sarea chandelier from Made Goods would cast the right glow on any room, and it pairs seamlessly with neutrals or colors.
Regina Andrew Ivory Gray Shagreen Hex Tray
This Hex tray in faux shagreen from Regina Andrews would be a perfect addition to a sparkling bar cart. Fill it with glasses for an easy way to serve a crowd.
Stray Dog Designs Birdie Tray, White
Anybody can make a tray, but Stray Dog Designs makes it special. The simple bird adds a touch of whimsy, and we would put it on an ottoman in a sunroom.
Regina Andrew Rustic Artifact Lamp
Far from a basic fixture, this Artifact lamp from Regina Andrew feels just right for a room that needs to go a little earthy.
