First, how high are your ceilings?
How high to hang your artwork on the wall? Most people seem to hang their artwork way too high on their walls.
The typical rule is to always hang your art at 60" to 65" inches from the floor to the center of the painting. This represents the average human eye level. I like it best at 64".
Now this rule can be broken if you have lower seating areas, you can go lower than that such as above a sofa or in a dining room. You also need to take into consideration how the artwork and how it relates to everything around it. Each space will have elements to consider.
Sometimes with a larger paintings keeping the top level with the top of the window looks best. However, if it seems to look too low at that level than the artwork is probably too tall for the space.
A photo of the area would help?
