I have a plant that looks much like the donkey tail--the leaves drop at touch. It's grown from a few 2-3 inch shoots to many, some reaching 3 feet. We're moving and I'm afraid I'll destroy it in transport. Any advice? thanks!

One of the best things we have found for keeping plants happy is an inexpensive water meter with a probe you insert into the spoil to check dryness. The package comes with a chart telling what moisture level is preferred by different plants . We have a line of five spider plants in identical pots and potting soil yet given the same amount of water they dry out at different rates under identical conditions. Using the meter has improved their look 100%.
