The solid acrylic doors like DuraSupreme and the Italian companies use is what looks high end, because it is. It's not paint. It's solid acrylic all the way through, and is very slightly translucent, so you get a bit of a "glow" to the reflectivity. Because it's solid, you can buff it back to a high shine when it gets a few scratches. In fact, Dura requires the purchase of the polishing kit and acknowledgement that polishing is the last step of completing the kitchen.
I've been in this kitchen in person, and it is breathtaking. It's actually in their employee lounge, believe it or not!
