This was a small, dark room in a 1923 bungalow. The owners broke through walls, raised ceilings, and opened the back wall with an expansive glass door leading to a spectacular outdoor patio. A large, eat-in island functions as both a food prep area and as a dining space. Restaurant grade appliances, including a Wolf Stove and a Sub-Zero Refrigerator, are practical additions for the two avid cooks who live here.

Cabinet City's White Shaker Cabinets were chosen. They are wonderfully designed to compliment both traditional and modern environments. They look crisp next to a warm wood floor and gray quartz countertops. A neutral, gray glass tile accentuates stainless steel appliances and is delightfully subtle against the warm white cabinet color.

When entertaining, the owners open up the back patio doors, allowing seamless and elegant and comfortable entertainment as guests move and mingle in the quintessential Southern California home, bringing the outdoors in. Breezes flow through the house as natural air-conditioning.
