A steep slope and severely dehydrated soils demanded an aggressive way to handle overland flows. The concrete driveway was poured in segments to leave breaks for cross infiltration trenches. Then the driveway was edged with an 18" deep infiltration trench that directed overland flows into the terraced planting areas.
