Our Clients presented us with a familiar problem: our traditional floor plan is way too small to build the kitchen we want. What we really want is an open plan for entertaining with a large island, generous counter space and state of the art appliances where we can spread out. What we have are small rooms that don’t allow a reasonable flow.

Our solution was to replace the bearing wall in the center of the house with a beam, turning the living room into a dining room, the dining room into the kitchen, moving the laundry to the main level from the basement. Who uses a living room any more anyway?
