Landscape Architects & Landscape Designers
Modern Desert Family Home
A modern home rebuild inside a cozy gated community, in a high-desert climate.
Project in Progress – finished photos coming soon!
The design objective was for a modern garden with elements of both desert and Mediterranean landscapes all while complimenting the architecture of the home.
Transitional gardens and climate appropriate plant selections unify and harmonize each of the outdoor spaces with the residence and the landscape beyond.
The front garden consists of plants adapted to the high-desert environment with drifts of texture and moments of color for a beautiful seasonal effect. Combinations of green, silver, and yellow create a spectacular effect as a frontage garden should.
The driveway allée of Golden Locust trees evoke a sense of calm and a ceremonious arrival upon coming home.
Simply laid out plantings of shrubs, ornamental grasses and focal agaves gently guides guests from the front to back.
The rear pool garden connects to the interior both visually and physically through 30’ pocket sliding doors, opening to the perfect space for entertaining and play. Amenities such as outdoor kitchen, sunken patio, built-in lounge seating, fire table, pool and hot tub come together in a beautifully laid out arrangement. Corten steel planters surround the sunken patio; adding to the sensory experience are Myrtles and Lavenders alive with fragrance, color, and texture.
The pool features a 6’ long fountain weir, a Baja shelf for both play and relaxation, a cozy hot tub, and ample length for swimming laps.
