The clients purchased this solidly built 80-year-old home in a highly prized mid-town neighborhood knowing they would need more space for themselves and their two young daughters. In this rear house addition the challenge was to construct a master bedroom and ensuite on top of an existing one-story family room. We worked with the client to create a welcoming and relaxing room that made the best use of all available space putting a master retreat and ensuite that feels like a tree-house oasis.
The construction process gave us the opportunity to open up more space underneath the existing living room by putting in a guest suite with storage as a cozy refuge for their in-laws when they come to visit.
