Craig worked with us on our home addition and kitchen remodeling. We had a number of revisions and challenges with the City of Chicago permit process. Craig would listen carefully when we would be stuck on a problem. He would offer suggestions that were thoughtful and creative. He supported our process for the permit process with diligence.

Craig was absolutely fantastic with his design for our kitchen remodeling. We added a small addition for dining in the kitchen as well as completely gutted the kitchen area. He was always available to give us advice and extremely patient with my wife when she was deciding on the many options that you have when doing kitchen remolding. (It took her what seemed like forever to make some decisions, hopefully she won't read this!). We can recommend him for any project big or small. He is meticulous and very concerned with his customer's complete satisfaction. I recently asked him to evaluate something at our home and he was again prompt and responsive to our needs. He makes you feel like your his only client and never rushes you to make a hasty decision. In the past, I have without reservation recommended him to one of our neighbors who was very satisfied. That says it all!

We used Archi/Buld to design and build out a previously unfinished basement to include a large office space, laundry room, storage room, half bath and wine cellar. The basement was only roughly finished and only in part of the area. Craig at Achi-Build worked with us to redesign the space to make better use of the footprint. That included moving existing walls to expand some areas while reducing others. Early on during the construction, he identified that a major beam supporting the first floor had been cut into to run wiring, which meant that it was not providing adequate support to the first floor. He worked with us to design and install a steel support beam which fit within the existing wall and ceiling structure so that it was invisible to the eye upon fishing of walls and ceiling. Even with this unexpected situation, the work was done within the planned timeline. The project included design, creation and installation of a custom desk work space, overhead cabinetry and book cases. It also included design and creation of a custom temperature and humidity controlled wine storage room. Craig stayed very involved in the project from beginning to end. He stopped by regularly to meet with workers, inspect work, consult with us on decisions to be made, etc. And he is very conscientious about the workers he chooses to utilize for his work.

When we decided to have an addition to our home built we knew we would ask Craig to create a design. The addition has become our favorite place in the home. Craig's design looks like it was always part of the home. The addition was a major project but we can not imagine our home without it. I would recommend Arcibuild to design your next project.

Craig remodeled our kitchen, added an addition (first floor and basement), and constructed a new deck for our 120-year-old Victorian. First and foremost, Craig knows his architecture, so we felt really confidant having him not only do the designing but also the construction. Adding on to an old home can be structurally challenging. Craig worked with us to come up with the most attractive but also functional design and really problem-solved with us on iterations of the design. Craig worked with us to help us figure out what exactly we wanted (since you're not always sure what you want when you start these sorts of projects!). In the end, we pretty much ended up with what we wanted and needed. He also worked hard to make the addition, inside and out, stay in sync with the look of our original house. Of course there were stumbling blocks along the way, like when we discovered that there were no footings under our old home! But again, Craig's expertise helped us deal with this contingency. We now felt/feel confident our house will not sink! We have been living in this remodeled/new space now for 8 years, and no one comes into our home without commenting on how amazing it is, from the gorgeous kitchen to the fun basement space.

We purchased a spec house from Archi/Build Group, for our Daughter, in 2004. She’s been in the house ten years and we have been very pleased with the construction, design and especially the location. If we had any minor issues the builder took care of them right away, they were very professional people to work with.

Archi/Build provided various architectual services for me over a couple of years. They helped me diagnose water damage and masonry defects in my condo building and also helped me fix the problems. I also used them as a home inspector. I was pleased with all services and advice. I would use Archi/Build again without hesitation.

We hired Craig and Archi/Build Group for a second time because our first project, a screened porch, resulted in a stunning addition to our house. The second project was a kitchen remodel. And for a second time, Craig brought his many years of experience, his keen eye for detail and a dedicated work ethic to our remodeling project. From our first meetings until the last day of the project, Craig has listened to our needs and devised ways to have them met. He is a perfectionist who does not cut corners. Our project had some unexpected twists and Craig managed the process very professionally. Communication was always very prompt with change orders in writing and very detailed. I always felt like we were in good hands with someone who looked after our interests. Craig's design concepts are fresh, personalized and therefore unique to our needs. We enjoy using our remodeled kitchen and have no complaints. His intent from the outset was to satisfy us and he did--with a sensational kitchen that has exceeded our expectations. My first contact with Craig Cernek was 15 years ago when he designed and built a new portico for our home. We were so impressed with his professionalism, attention to detail, and quality of work that with our recent kitchen, first floor powder room and master bath/bedroom remodel we contacted him again. From the initial design through the more advanced stages involving finishes, fixtures, etc. he was there to make the process as seamless as possible. He managed our project from design to contractor and builder. Throughout the design process he listened to our ideas and thoughts and then incorporated our ideas with his suggestions to finalize a design. An example is our master bath shower. We wanted a shower without a door and a curved wall. He designed the Fibonacci shower which is spectacular. Our kitchen space was a complete gut to the studs and involved moving a wall. It is now not only beautiful but also functional. Throughout the build he supervised on a daily basis and responded quickly to any of my calls and questions. We were very pleased with the project and Craig's professionalism, integrity, creativity, knowledge and patience are second to none. We can highly recommended the Archi/Build Group, Inc.

The Archi/Build Group Inc. remodeled our basement. It is now an absolutely wonderful space. The architect, Craig Cernek, handled the entire project from designing the basement to being our contractor and builder. Mr. Cernek bid out and hired all of the subcontractors (i.e. electricians, plumbers, dry-wallers, carpenters, insulation, etc.). He also gave us expert advice on the steps we needed to take to prepare the basement for the project (i.e. testing for lead paint & asbestos and repairing foundation cracks). Mr. Cernek was very professional and very knowledgeable about all current aspects of design & construction. He completed all of the budget and contractual deadlines. Mr. Cernek patiently explained all of our options, the details, and the costs involved ahead of time in meetings and in writing. All of the change orders were in writing and clarified verbally. Mr. Cernek's work was of the highest quality and was very affordable. He was extremely easy to work with and had the utmost integrity with his clients. My wife and I were very pleased with every step of the design and build process. We highly recommend Arch/Build Inc.
