Walsh Krowka & Associates is a "hands-on" architecture & landscape architecture firm located in the Pawleys Island area of South Carolina. We take great pride in our personal service and creative place making, both in the built environment and in the landscape. I enlisted Tom for the design and local expertise for restoring a old home in Georgetown. His help has been invaluable. I look forward to his continued support as we start reconstruction next year. I heartily recommend Walsh Krowka.

My wife and I worked with Tom in designing our retirement home. He came to us highly recommended by our builder. We knew what we wanted but needed an architect to bring it life. Tom did just that and exceeded our expectations. Our house plans also had to be submitted to an ARB. Mr. Krowka was well-versed in their requirements which made the process go smoothly. He is very approachable, easy to work with, and professional. He made himself available to us throughout the process and was a pleasure to work with. Hopefully we won’t build another home but if we do we will certainly return to Walsh Krowka & Associates.

My wife and I worked with Tom over two years designing our new home. Tom was most professional in our relationship. He would make suggestions but never allowed his preferences to override our expectations. He did everything possible from a sound architectural viewpoint to bring our desires into fruition, Not always easy, as my wife had very good design taste while I dealt in the land of functionality. He was most patient. After four years of living in our home, we appreciate how Tom talents brought the three of us together as a team to build a home we always wanted.

Tom Krowka is amazing. He brings creativity and passion to designing your home or addition. I hired him to design a contemporary, open floor plan house and he was extremely diligent, competent and timely. He could sense when a design element was not "quite right" and worked to achieve perfection. His attention to detail and sense of style are particularly valuable if you want a home designed to your needs, rather than a cookie-cutter or run-of-the-mill house.

They helped us with a challenging renovation and were always professional and prompt...not to mention they were able to work within the existing structure to improve our home's beauty and livability. It was well worth the extra step and expense to get their expertise and drawings before contracting out the work. His pre-work also enabled us to more carefully select the right contractor and to understand the full scope of the project before undergoing such a major remodel.

Developed a complete architectural design in collaboration with us for a plantation style home. The design included everything - wiring, elevations, exterior design elements, and build from design drawings. The house was 4400ft2 heated and more than 2000ft2 of decks, garage and screened and unscreened porches. The home was designed to meet fortified design standards resisting hurricane winds up to 150mph. In the first three months in this home it is highly energy efficient. Our utility costs are 50% of the previous rental home we were in which was only 2200ft2.

We met Tom on a trip to Pawleys Island to interview architects and purchase a piece of property for our retirement home. We toured several built projects designed by Walsh Krowka & Associates, and found them to be artfully crafted in terms of plan layout and exterior design. The references we checked were impeccable. We are looking forward to working through the design and construction process with Tom .

Tom Krowka has designed one home and two remodels/additions for me. He always gets everything done in a timely and efficient manner. We are finishing up the last one and love it. I always trust Tom to be thorough and careful during the planning process which leads to a very good finished project.
