I used to have it "dressed up" a little more--a nice table runner, decorative stuff on the counter, but we've dissolved into "clean functional" around here with an 18 month old. I have an open floor plan, so all the rooms run together. As for the side of the fridge, it was a compromise between my clutter phobias and hubby's love of photos/magnets/etc. I will try to find the name of the paint, it was the builder original when we bought it, though I'm going to have to repaint this lovely flat with a more kid friendly version (same color though). I have closeups of the tile, too. It's the Lowes AO basic subway tile. I like it because it has some bevel and a much warmer white than the HD version. I don't know what Revere Pewter would look like with the browns you have, but I've seen pictures of it with walnut and calacatta marble and it look very nice. Buy a sample and paint a board with several coats and set it in the room to see if you like it. It is a Benjamin Moore color.

Your home is very nice! You may consider making those be one-of-a-kind and not looking so much like plant stands or pedestals. Ask (or call) at stone yards for deep blue remnants and have them cut so there's about 1" overhang on the long side of a rectangle and about 4-5" overhang on the short sides. That would not only help with the weight of them, but also give you more surface area to utilize and make them unique at the same time. Depending on the stone, I would paint the dark taupe, navy, or charcoal. Excuse the unfinished rendering ;) Please share what you decide!
