When you're looking at paint colors, make sure you have a sample of flooring that has already darkened most of the way--the difference is very dramatic. That said, I think you can use most beiges or taupes. I think the only ones that might conflict are those with peachy or yellow undertones. Are you looking to paint your house before buying furniture? If not, you should consider coordinating with your furniture. In my house, I chose a light taupe, plus one a shade darker, that looked good with the granite surround of my fireplace. I used the darker shade as an accent in alcove and certain walls to emphasize light and shading. I had originaly painted my library navy blue, (which looked OK as I have white painted woodwork throughout), but later painted it over in an deep brown, almost espresso. I recovered some furniture, painted oak bookshelves an off white, and the results are stunning. Enjoy your floors!

morton5 - Thanks for asking, it's called Enoki from C2 Paints. Funny thing, it does look tan - maybe a little camel on the paint chip. But, in our house, it actually has picked up a bit more goldy-green tones. I like it and I was going for something not too boring, it really complements the warm tones in the marble too. The adjoining rooms have more red and green tones in the furnishings. We also have it in our master bedroom where I have it paired with an ocean green, black and white scheme and it definitely appears more camel color there. I love C2 Paints, they use many different color pigments in every color they make so they have greater depth and saturation than other paints. What's really funny is that you are the third person to ask me about the paint color in about a week on this forum....hmm, maybe I was onto something when we picked it!
