I should have never got wood floors throughout the house!
Comments (23)I guess out of sight out of mind for some people, but don't you realize all that hair, pet dander and dirt is still there, trapped in your carpet! Especially those of us with babies crawling around on it! EWWWW. Not to mention how bad it is for people with allergies or asthma! Don't hate your floors, they are keeping you healthier and cleaner. I have a long haired dog, a long haired cat, 3 long haired daughters LOL(seriously, their hair used to clog my vaccum when I had carpeting!) and fluff balls floating every so often. The hardwood floors are sooo much easier! To keep it simple and quick, I keep the pets brushed (furminator is great, but our vet suggests using only once or twice monthly so as to not "over thin" the coat) and use a big WIDE dust mop (bought it at Lowes, Home depot has them too). My house is quite large and it only takes about 15 mins. to "mop-up" all the hair and dander in the morning. Once a day is usually good. And every day I think how if I had carpet at least 1/2 that "stuff" would still be lurking in the fibers! Also keep in mind how much easier and cleaner it is when your pets (or children) have accidents of any kind!...See MoreRECIPE: Never having eaten it much, I made my first pizza......
Comments (2)Something that kids love to do is to "decorate" their own pizzas. Make individual sized pizza dough rounds on cookie sheets, and coat them with a basic tomato sauce (spaghetti sauce in jars is fine)and a layer of shredded cheese. Then, set them out with bowls of assorted ingredients and let the kids "make" their own pizzas. They will eat things on a pizza they would never normally eat, if they themselves have fashioned the ingredients into a big smiley face, or flowers, or designs like stripes or polka dots....See MoreIm having a problem I've never experienced before with my Rangpor Lim

Comments (20)Interesting, and indeed heartwarming, to me, post-and many wise replies (I've yet to read some) It's not that I wanted to build a house-I grew up in a place where and when 99% of people didn't build their houses, so wasn't on my mind-but I did drew houses, dreamt of houses, and wrote silly poems about houses since a little girl A dream that came to me the most was a little white house surrounded by a garden..and these were really hard to stumble upon in our big Eastern Eauropean city so don't know exactly where I got this image. I never knew then I'd move anywhere either (and it so happenned that I did move. a lot.) Another dream would list a color pallette pretty well developed..in a living and in a bedroom..and also included A VERY BIG SPECIAL ROOM -like an orangery-that will have many tropical plants-and animals roaming kinda free in between Many years went by..I do live in a modest, white house surrounded by a garden..I don't need an orangery that much anymore since the climate is different..:) I'd prefer different animals roaming there LOL, but I have so many animals and plants in my decor instead, that I'd be embarrassed had I not known that they were my deepest fascination forever, and I'm just being true to myself and realistic about taking care of real bears, birds, hedgehogs, crocodiles, monkeys, frogs, flying horses, you name it:) So it reminded me of that great little novel 'Fame", written by Janusz Korczak, never really translated into English as far as I understand..a pity since it's sad and heartbreaking at times, but yet full of light and hope...and the last sentence, to my best memory, is: "..do dare and dream about glorious things! Some of it will come true"....See Moregsaf
