I wouldnt even think your doorway had anything to do with it and instead that your vanity was deliberately off the corner wall because you were able to, not because you had to. Vanities look far nicer and make a room feel more spacious to me when theyre not pressed into the cornerl.` The free-standing aspect makes them look more furniture-style quality and as enduring mentioned, how your side panels have finished trim panels is condusive to it being free-standing. Corner flush vanities are fine, the norm, but to me they make a bathrooms seem more compact, like space allowance left no choice but for it to be forced up against the corner wall. My powder is only bathroom with vanity up against the corner wall and only because I fell in love one for the room that isnt made less wide. I particularly like how your half tiled wall seems to accentuate the space on the side. Betting if you go with it, in hindsight youll actually appreciate it not being in the corner.

Just to be clear, BusyBee's "flip flop" doesn't actually give you any more space; it just divides the space under the sink into a shorter cabinet with a drawer underneath. In the undivided cabinet, you can install shelves on the sides, a full shelf (cut out to go around the plumbing), and/or slide-out trays. I had actually considered a drawer on the bottom, but I didn't like the aesthetics of how the door/drawer fronts lined up for us if the cabinet doors were at the top; I preferred having the row of drawers across the three base cabinets all line up underneath the counter. That might not be an issue with a smaller vanity with fewer drawers. We debated whether to put a fake drawer pull on the dummy panel under the sink; we did that in our smaller guest bathroom, but opted not to do it here because there are so many drawers and doors. (In order for the bottom drawer to work, your plumbing has to be coming through the wall behind the vanity, at a height above where the bottom drawer would go. That's typically the case, but sometimes the plumbing might be in the floor, or come through the wall close to the floor, and that doesn't allow for a drawer unless you heavily modify the drawer to wrap around the plumbing.) -- Eric P.S. Oh, Shosh65, it's a honed granite called Sunset Lether Creme. We went to a lot of granite yards, but have only seen this in one place. The honed or "leather" ("lether") look is really different when you're used to seeing all shiny granite. We loved the finish as well as the colors and veining.

One of my pet peeves is drawers that are too shallow! It always seems, even with makeup, that I just need a scooch more room for even the tiniest bottle to stand upright. Since we had our vanity custom made, I had the drawers made exactly the depth I wanted. I measure what I figured would go in each drawer, literally folding and stacking towels, and pulling out the measuring tape...LOL. I did have U-shaped drawers made, and since there would be no drainpipes behind the top drawer, ie just sink, had the U go further back to gain a couple more inches. I have no U in the bottom drawer, but I wish I had specified that it go back another couple of inches too, as DH arranged the plumbing so that it cleared the bottom drawer. U-shaped drawers can be quite expensive if going with cabinet lines, that's why it actually made having them custom made by a cabinet maker an economical choice for us. Vanity was expensive, but it's beautifully made, exactly what we want, not limited by preset increments determined by a catalogue. As Babka said, be clear as to the inside dimensions of the drawer, whether glides will be bottom mount or side mount for instance, and make sure vanity will be kitchen height to gain a couple more inches!

The way the vanity, mirror and sconces are set up in this picture is strange. I would try to get a mirror that was almost as wide as the vanity and could be centered on the whole vanity, not just on the sink. Then have the sconces symmetrical to the whole vainity. The mirror you found is probably too small for that set-up. Also I agree with Elle that the sconces are too formal for the vanity.
