Need suggestions for Baby that won't sleep
Comments (21)Just adding to what everyone has said about stopping the bottles and nursing more. If she does decide to try that, she should definitely talk to a lactation consultant first. If she goes back to breastfeeding, I'm pretty sure she'd need to gradually wean off of the bottle while building her milk supply back up. Otherwise she'll have a very angry, hungry baby on her hands! :) When Sophie was 1 month old, I had to go into the hospital for a week for surgery. During that week, Claude bottlefed her and my milk supply dropped to almost nothing, even though I was trying to pump to keep my supply up. When I got home and was off the medications I had been on, I started to nurse her often. She was still on bottle at first, but I gradually took her off, an ounce or two at a time, until she was being completely breastfed again. It's not easy, but it's doable. She was a big, hungry baby too - 9 lbs., 5 oz. when she was born....See MoreLooks like SS won't be coming...
Comments (18)"Despite making beautiful children" I'll bet you had a thing or two to do w/ that, my friend. I think you have an inner beauty that undoubtedly shines through, Southern. What were the odds that we'd be involved w/ the same two men, a few states apart? LOL. I'd love to get back to Nashville. I had a great time there when my cousin married. I was very early pg w/ my first - it was like a magical time for me. I kept quiet about the pg'cy as it was still early, but I was excited, etc. Loved the town and love that the celebs are given some breathing room! My friend's sister was always in a hat and dark glasses and we did all the running for her. On the courts, she always had a crowd which was to be expected, but you'd like to be able to eat in peace every now and then! She was a great role model early as far as our sport went and her disposition, but was not a faithful wife, sadly. Her parents are crushed as she just had her second divorce - this one, w/ three kids at home. (her fault both times, unfortunately) Sadly, losing my g-father was like losing the glue that held our extended family together. My generation of cousins doesn't seem as committed to staying in touch, etc. My g-father was one of ten. Until just a fwe years ago, eight were alive and kicking - reunions were frequent and I have such fond memories (most are in Ohio). Of the two lost before the age of 90 (or close to it), one died of natural causes and the other in a plane crash. Thanks for the advice for my mother - she's amazing - truly is my right arm and I'd be lost w/o her. I'm relieved to have my own private neurologist these days, lol. And she's a sports fan, too! I'm with you - love that college basketball. I'd take tix to the Final Four any day over the pros! Has dcubana been around here lately? I did offer a little dental advice awhile ago... Thanks, Southern. You're a great cyberfriend! Dana...See MorePlz help with defective furniture - Macy's won't refund fully
Comments (54)Update - Thank you all so much for your great ideas. I never expected this kind of response and so appreciate it. We are till working on this...debating whether to try to repair the chair ourselves or raising hell in the ways you all suggested to have it all sent back. First things first...the salesperson who waited on me hasn't been back to work since the delivery. She will be in on Tuesday. She has been on vacation. The store manager has been in NY. The asst. manager won't make a move until the manager returns from NY. So...it's on hold until Tuesday for sure. I did file a complaint with the TX atty general's office. They are looking into it and have notified Macy's about the complaint. I;ve only been in TX a couple of years and was not aware of the TX Deceptive Trade Practices Act. Thanks a lot for that info. And, to clarify a few comments.Yes, I did buy from a real Macy's store that has a furniture department. It wasn't an outlet store. Yes, I did use my macy's card at the store when I purcahased the furniture. They do take credit cards here. I did not order it online. Of course, hindsight is everything, but by using my Macy's card I got a discount. So, I bit. I may call on you all to help in the ways you suggested before it's over with. I truly feel thankful for all the interest and suggestions...the members of this forum are the best...always so helpful and friendly. I would have never thought of half your suggestions. I'll post an update ASAP. Thanks again. You've all made such a difference for me. :-)...See MoreNeed smaller home but open plan won't work
Comments (55)Who has long term care insurance? We do. We got the policies in our late 50’s when we had no medical issues. The monthly premiums are not a burden, at all. It gives us peace of mind. We are a family of three and neither my husband nor I want our daughter to have to care for us. We bought the inflation protected, stay in your own home incentives which didn’t add much more to the premium. Now that we are talking about finished basements, ours is such that a caretaker could live there. With its own entrance, it would be a very comfortable apartment for a live-in. However, bottom line:, “Man proposes; God disposes”. “Best laid plans”…. A few of us were gabbing the other night at bookclub, (THE STORY OF ARTHUR TRULUV by Elizabeth Berg…if you haven’t read it, this is the perfect time of year to do so ) about our generation aging. We all agreed we feel younger than we are, if not physically than, at least, mentally. I remember my great grandmother wearing only black because she was a widow. I’m 74 and in my head I feel 50ish. Boy, is it a shock to look in the mirror…who is that old lady? LOL....See MoreRelated Professionals
