Oooo, Ooo, that red sandy loam looks like central/east Tx, like around Columbus, Halletsville or Giddings. ANYTHING grows there. The HEB roses are a bargin, but the roots are chopped pretty short. The first year I planted a Duchesse from them it sulked it's looking good now. Pinkie is a bloom machine once she gets established. Ducher is great, Caldwell Pink is a workhorse (& it roots easy--let me know if you'd like me to send you one). For companions, I've had very good luck with dianthus. I pick up the .25 single pots or $1.00 six-pack plants that Lowes throws away on a regular basis. Within a year each plant is a huge clump. Native wildflowers are wonderful, too. Since it looks like you have a pasture, dig up some bluebonnets, coreopsis, mealy sage, etc.--whatever is blooming in your area, as they bloom, & transplant into your bed. They LOVE living in a cultivated watered bed. The little native "rain lilies" make a beautiful border when they are thickly planted. Alyssium does well in my zone until the heat really sets in. I have the north ceilings up so the walls are set. the little space below the bathroom door was to be the bathroom door but it would take a large chunk out of our bedroom, so the wife nixed it. The toilet/shower will be on the far side of the bath (after I knock the wall out of the middle of the bathrooom). I noticed if I put a cabinet in the planned door hole and moved the door south a few feet, I still had the same kitchen storage and i had a lot more room in the bedroom. The landing, kitchen and bath are the last ceilings to do. After I insulate the south wall in the kitchen, I need to tear into the landing, so I can get that ceiling up and windows in. I need some walk boards shoved thru the kitchen/landing wall for that, so I may as well make that mess before I clean up last weeks mess. The master bedroom will eventually be an entrance to an addition where the new bedroom will be, but that is a couple years down on the to do list. So, I'm land locked on my bathroom choices. either it enters beside my bed or beside the stove. The wife says the stove. I saw the corner oven on a recent post. I would lose some precious space, but I like the look

I'll try to play catch up. (Have been travelling for a little more than a month in the past 40 days. Much of that was without Internet so more absent than I thought might happen.) The drawing is pretty basic but hopefully it will convey some ideas. First, I would get rid of the odd angles on the beds. They would look much better to tie in to walks at 90* angles instead of weird wedge shapes. In the lower, right corner I'm illustrating two ways you could make a circular bed around the lamp post. (The lamp post is a primary purpose of the bed so the bed ought to use the post, at least roughly, as the radius point. And a generally circular shape would make more sense than a sprawling asymmetrical wedge shape.) Also, I would re-shape the large front bed. It should swell out to accommodate the tree you intend to plant but does not need to extend outward, around the walk in a grabbing fashion. To explain the planting in the illustration, it is a shrub below each window of the garage, and a small hedge below the pair of windows (right half). None of those should get taller than bottom of the window. There is seasonal color flanking the entrance to the porch and at the left of the porch. A perennial mass wraps the garage corners and right house corner. A low groundcover, solid, links the other plantings together. Can't tell how your existing tree would possibly conflict with the proposed tree. (The third picture you posted was taken from a different position so the existing tree location shown could be seriously misleading.) You might want to consider moving the proposed tree farther back in the scene rather than placing it at a pure diagonal to the house corner. (I wouldn't know because we don't have the information.) A large shade tree is probably not in order. A flowering tree (such as redbud) might be a better size to use so close to the house. As far as what plants to use, gauge the heights and research what plants grow locally that could perform well.

it is very hard without better measurements. I would have the couch face the window and then have the 2 chairs either face each or other or be on one side or the other. Remember there does not need to be a lot of space between couch and chairs or table. the desk is up to you my first thought was to place on the wall? small rugs perhaps?
