Flooring for Home Office Help with Pics of 4 Species of Wood
Comments (2)I just came back from looking at my neighbor's BR-111 Brazilian Cherry Floors that are so rich and beautiful and I really like them. I wish someone would have the Amendoim and the Santos Mahogany in their homes that I could visit and see in person but no one in my neighborhood does. I wish I typed in a different title to this post like HELP- NEW Pics taken grouped by Wood Species. Maybe my title is why I am getting no replies. I left out the dash in between Office and Help. :)...See MoreHome office help needed
Comments (46)After seeing your photos, and going back to your original question, I think you can make a nice usable space in your area near the kitchen. You've got things set up nicely in the living room and dining area, and I don't see a reason to change all that. You can turn the desk so you are looking out the window, and use your bookcases to the right of the desk, placed perpendicular to the desk and parallel to the island, to partition the office area from the kitchen and walkway without sacrificing any light. You then have room for a rug with two armchairs and a small side table behind the desk area by the stairs. You can just turn the desk chair around to converse with the other chairs when desired. It gives you a light open place to work during the day....See Moreneed home office help!
Comments (4)Hi Diana! What a nice space to have for an office! I love the floors, windows, and wainscoting. For the chairs as you have them arranged, I would look for a round ottoman, personally. Separate footstools would need to be fairly small to avoid a crowd of furniture. If you want a longer footstool, you might look for one that incorporates storage as well, approaching it more like a coffee table. Hopefully I’m interpreting correctly- is the white lamp to the right of the chair the hideous one? (Do they come in black?) And is the diamond-patterned rug the one you’d like to replace? As for the side table storage. Could you use bookshelves instead? Books can go on the shelves, and you might use baskets to store smaller things. A more open storage solution might be easier to use. (If you and your husband want to dig more into organizational storage, I highly recommend “Organizing from the Inside-Out” by Julie Morganstern.”) I hope some of that helps! Comments (8)I personally would not keep the set up you have. And would probably consider something like this : One desk in front of the windows. Not against the wall. And built ins along the rest of the room with more of a built in desk area. You can try using ikea hacking tips. Google ikea built ins... I also saw this desk and love it. Maybe can help you ( maybe you can have some built ins made matching this stain...)...See Morembuschow
