Tile and cabinet finish...

I'd love to know where the tiles for the backsplash were found. Also, how would I achieve the same finish as the cabinets in this photo? My walls are nearly this exact color blue, and cabinets are currently white. Some of the doors need to be replaced, and I'll never match the current color, so will have to be repainted anyway! Thanks!

Hi there - the tile is a slate multi-color sheets with random sizes and random depth. We purchased it through Virginia Tile. The cabinetry is locally built custom white paint with a pewter colored glaze. The island is cherry with a stained finish. In order to achieve the same look in your kitchen, you would need to hire a contractor (like us) in your area that specializes in kitchen design and provides all services involved with the renovation. There are cabinet companies that will match your existing cabinetry finish for the new doors needed. If you are in our area, please give us a call to discuss. Thank you!

Thank you, thank you, thank you! Sadly, I'm in deep south Louisiana so not local to you. My dad and my husband built our home, so I know most of the materials, suppliers, and paint colors used. Some of the cabinet doors and drawer fronts were made from MDF, which did not hold up well in the kitchen, especially near the sink and dishwasher. The formica countertops are cracking and becoming discolored. But I LOVE the blue walls in my kitchen, and wanted to find a backsplash that worked with them and the white cabinets. Your kitchen design is GORGEOUS. It is a wonderful inspiration, and while I won't end up with exactly what you've accomplished I have a much better direction to guide me. Thanks again!

I think it partially depends on whether you want the backsplash to look "framed". That's essentially what the porcelain tile will do because it is visually different from the glass tile. Bullnose tends to be more expensive than field tiles, and you will (almost definitely) have some scraps left over from doing the shower. I would consider cutting some of those scraps into the strip shape (as you would the bullnose) and taping it up as a layout to see if you like that framed look. If you do, then go ahead and cut the bullnose and tape that up. This would hopefully save you some money if it turns out you do not like the look of the frame around the glass tile. My personal preference would be to not do the bullnose around the glass tile. To me the mosaic is very pretty and has a lovely rounded edge and I would not want anything to take away the focus from the glass tiles. However, this is just my opinion, so feel free to ignore it.

Thanks for the link. The pendants that polarprincess has are about like mine. Those are the last things we plan to change out once we have everything else nailed down. My 1st choice would be brushed nickel, but I'm not sure DH would be onboard. I tried looking at larger new construction houses and you have to get up to the 4000+ sq.ft. to see cabinet HW. Even then, it seems to be a mix of ORB & brushed nickel. The link, below, is for the style I like in satin nickel. I think it is classic w/o being too plain. There is a knob that matches. Oh, cool! I've gained a lot of knowledge and inspiration for my next kitchen from this board, so it's good to know I'm contributing back! I ended up using Ohara Natural. My original choice was Hida Natural, but they were way, way, way backordered. I have red oak flooring, too. We used English Chestnut stain. I like the way it looks, but it still reads more red than I'd like. ditto rhome - can't wait to see the finished product. It's neat to see how kitchens that use similar materials and design elements can be totally different with their own personality.

Good morning! I am not sure of the exact paint color, but I can tell you that we always use either Benjamin Moore or Sherwin Williams for our painit products.
