I just want to pick the most durable, longest lasting tile for the laundry room. I’ve been reading a lot of information and it is very confusing. Just wondering if anyone has personally had any complaints about either. The Durabody sounds great but most people seem to recommend porcelain.

That's not a very big area. While I know you want to get everything done ASAP, this doesn't seem like an emergency. The tile looks like it's in good condition. Save up and do it right. Rugs will camouflage the issue in the meantime. MCM suggests slate if you decide not to continue the wood floor into the foyer. You could use 12" X 24" tile. On authentic MCM floors a more random pattern was used. But they also used different colors of slate, including red, and I don't know if you want to be that authentic. I suggest you use porcelain tile instead of real slate, and a gray that doesn't lean blue will go with the wood floors better. If it leans blue it will bring out the orange in the wood. The first picture is probably real slate. I'm including it so you can see what I mean about the random pattern. And in order to make the foyer true MCM you will need to change your railing. Stair work is very expensive because it's not easy, so don't attempt it as a DIY project unless you have someone experienced in the family who can do it for you.

Looks like the OP has that wall tile around the shower threshold and, I assume, the walls too, so not that easy to get rid of the wall tile. Maybe just reducing the amount of the wall tile, except for shower area, will help tone down the discord between tiles.
