We didn't do a tub, but did do a custom neo-angle shower with surround in cultured granite(from a cultured marble vendor). The sequence actually took quite a bit of time: 1) Durock the walls, set the subfloor. 2) CM vendor came in to measure for the showerpan, NOT the surround. 3) 1 week to create the showerpan. They installed it, then measured for the surround. 4) Another week for the surround and inserts, which were then installed. 5) Then, and only then, did the shower glass vendor come out to measure for the glass, which of course took another 2 weeks to install plus a day to dry the silicon caulk. So it was a month after we did the order, until we got to use our new shower! Love it, though - people are sure we've got a Corian shower with matching double integral sink vanity. They have no idea we saved at least 30% using cultured granite.

Well, I don't love mine- but it could be as old as 30 years+. We've been in this house 13 years, and it was already there and well-used when we moved in. When we gut the BR I guess maybe we'll find out if there was anything else there before. And it's more because it is tiny- inside dimensions of 28X30. Certainly don't find it stains- I used a steamer and Oxy-clean to get PO's dirt off, and try to squeegee it after each use- DH couldn't be bothered- not worth nagging him as we're replacing it soon anyways. My Mom built a fairly high end luxury home and put two in her two guest baths- She loves them and definitely the ease of cleaning is an important bonus for her as she approaches her 80's. (In fact, she may have one in her Master shower- I've just never been in there!)

Thanks everyone for the advice! Here is more information: The shower is finished. The main wall is the American Olean 2 x 4 glass tile. (Its called charcoal - www.lowes.com/pd_355357-74035-DG7124BJHC1P_4294730930%2B4294965034 ) The other walls are the floor tile which is a 12x24 beige color. It doesn't have any pizazz but it looks fine. Originally I was going to have some of the blue mosaic be part of the shower but had the idea nixed by both the tile stores saleslady and my contractor as being to busy.... I will take more pictures tomorrow evening after the painters have finished and post. Again, my original idea was to have this mosaic "Majestic Ocean 1x1" really shine on the vanity wall...I still could have it on the vanity wall but it would only show 2 inches on the sides and lower edge. The top would have about 10 inches show since the light fixtures would be mounted above the mirrors.

I feel like a glass tile might be nice with your flooring choice. I found this one on Tilebar. It is a bit dark maybe. Mangata groove cafe glass tile But there is also this, which is Crema. I think that is likely what you've got on your floor. This one is a good size 2X8 - so longer than your regular subway. Crema marfil 2 X 8 I'm sure if you look, you can find a ceramic tile to mimic Crema. I agree that white tile isn't the right choice. There is quite a range of colours in glass tiles and I'm wondering if that look nice in your bath. You mention you don't want bland and I think that more of the same as the floor might end up being just that, bland.
