Show us your stonework
Comments (60)Duh. Jayco's photo reminded me that I did indeed try my hand at some stonework. This is my very first garden, made about 15 years ago, and while I was happy with the visual results, I didn't do any homework regarding building pathways, and therefore no kind of prep work, and so this pathway is now uneven and sunken in spots. And the garden itself is incredibly overgrown and neglected, being in a little side yard that no one EVER goes in. Around the birdbath you can see some little shrubs - those are dwarf azaleas which were planted way too close, (but whichh are still gorgeous in spring) underplanted with some rockcress which has almostly completely overtaken the pathway, which is probably l why I forgot about it, lol. Where the rockcress hasn't spread, the weeds (as well as spreaders/reseeders such as foxgloves and toad lilies) have. This garden was actually on my list to be redone this year, including toying with the idea of digging up and moving/redoing the pathway, but time constraints and weather have put this project on hold yet again. In looking at this photo, I kind of like the new, clean look to the garden here (at least compared to what it is now, lol) but it could just be nostalgia kicking in, lol. Hope the photo shows okay. I actually taped three of them together instead of uploading separately. Dee...See MoreShow us your favorite room in your house
Comments (81)Love all your rooms inside and out! Here are mine. Our DIY kitchen that we are still working on( DH rather) and our front porch. I used the painters tarp and grommet ideas for curtains for the porch so now we can sit and watch the storm.I call it the "biggest little porch in town" You are looking at the whole thing in the photo, there ain't no more. But it is big enough for 3 to sit and the 2 dogs can lie on the porch with us. We have our morning coffee outside after our walks. I included photos from May when I had painted the free CL loveseat and made pillows so you could see the colors in a better light. I am just using grosgrain ribbon right now, I plan to make tiebacks out of the stripe canvas. Of course the roses arent blooming like that now....See MoreDo you have a fancy office? Comments (99)Strawchicago the scent of Firecrack is just like Lyda.... I think someone told me is musk.... but if you were blindfolded you would not be able to tell the difference of it and Lyda. That is why I am sure it is one of her seedlings.... that and Too Ugly who just got through putting out a great show, but I forgot to take pictures. Rosecanadian.... Firecracker smells just like Lyda rose and is just as strong. This time there seems to be a single stripe in the picture.... but normally not striped. Maybe it is weather. Normally this rose will change colors as the blooms open... I brought these two beauties in to share with my daughter who is home for one her friends father's funeral. I have told her about my creations and just wanted to share them with her.... I will allow the other buds to open on the bush and see if they still go through their progression of dark pink, to light pink and yellow...See MoreRelated Professionals
