I do enjoy your photos so much. I hope you have a whole bunch of groupings like this one to share with us during the winter to keep us all going till spring. We got a laptop so I'll be able to see what's going on with all of you while we are gone. If I can figure how to send pictures I'll do it too. Now that could be taken as being mean so maybe I won't. I'd opt for shorter lights that wouldn't require a truck mounted boom lift to service.

Hi Normel, Thanks for the suggestion. I opened the receptacle and the wires were taut (i.e. nothing was loose there). Of course, since the wires come through the sheet rock I can't see where it is coming from. All the sockets closeby and infact pretty much every socket appeared to have power. Somehow it is the living room lights, the kitchen lights and dining area lights that are not having power. All the sockets in the living room, fan and the lights that go with the fan have power. Any other suggestions? Any ideas about how I can check if the circuit breaker that supplies to this circuit is ok ? Thanks Regards, Mohan_R

Do your cabinets have molding (example) that is attached to the bottom of the cabinet box to hide any lights and wires you might attach there? If not, I'd use tape lights in a channel as that will be the shallowest solution (hide the required driver inside a cabinet). Otherwise, linkable light bars shallower than the molding would be a good solution. Be sure that whatever solution you choose is dimmable from a wall dimmer. I'd skip the lights under the cabinets. They'll just highlight the dirt on the kitchen floor.
