Hi jojogirl11, I just bought two very similar light fixtures for my kitchen, however mine have crackle glass and may be a little smaller. I will have cherry cabinets, a mantle hood similar to yours and a seven foot long island. I think the glass color on yours picks up the color on your island and is pretty. I would love to know what you end up doing. I will post pictures of my kitchen in two or three weeks when there is something to show, hopefully I will love my light fixtures! Your kitchen looks great! What is your granite?

Hi again! My island is 51" wide and 62" deep - the granite was actually just installed last night so now you can really see the lighting scenario! I think it would support only ONE of the basket weave pendants posted b/c that is 23" in diameter so I'd hang it really in the center. I think it could support two pendants of a traditional kind if they were between 10 and 20" in diameter, you know? I feel like I'm fighting the industrial pendant trend - and it's not because I don't like how it looks! It's just that everyone puts them in and they all look the same and in three years, something else will be the "everyone" option, you know? Can't decide now if the basketweave up there will bring in the pretty coloring and balance the granite, adding interest up in the air, OR detract. What do you think?

okay then...but is that a hall behind the stools? it looks dark...maybe there is separate lighting for the hallway.....I see the cans now in the kitchen area. I might go w a slight industrial look for two pendants/ and larger sizes/clear glass shades as transparency would be better -you have a lot of other elements to look at. Gp ahead and make a statement I think...otherwise keep what you have....go to a lighting store and look thru catalogues. Kichler/Hinckley...etc. More I look...the correct pendants will really be that final special detail .
