I have pic of 1 similar that has a juicer piece over the hole there in middle. It's shown in Jadite green with the mixer & it is really an old looking never used in box(they probably took 1 look & decided it was too scary to use!!) It has the black cord crossing right where handle is & base of mixer has a large cut out section at back of it. I can't see top part of your spout, this 1 is curved before the spout & spout has glass almost over top of it so liquid comes out the side close to top. I've seen Sunbeam ones at Antique Mall & they are a little newer than this model. I really like them tho. They had nice lines & very practical. My 5 yr old Sunbeam Mixmaster is a pain, hard to get beaters out, have to push in to get bowl out from under or if up have to push to get it in to position to mix. A real pain & hard on my poor fingers. Kitchenaid much easier to use. If you find the whole thing it will probably work great!! I think the juicer must go on sideways & bowl catches juice. I think you hold the half of citrus against the center part that is missing. Looks like center of a reamer.

Circuspeanut. . . love your kitchen! Was definitely an inspiration to me as I was planning my own renovation, thank you! I remember you posted a photo of your stove completely disassembled that gave me the courage to take on a project too! Have you moved on to a new kitchen now? I think I remember seeing a post with all sorts of kitchen planning ideas and some great renderings. . . thought it might be you. Francois, it looks to me like your stove is one of the more basic Wedgewoods. From what I have been able to gather, Wedgewood offered a broad range of stoves from single oven apartment size units with simple burners to the full dual oven rigs with 4 and 6 burners with simmer settings. It seems to me that you'd want to decide if the stove is sufficient to meet your needs before deciding to spend money on restoration. At the very least you'd have a basic unit that is more finely made than any basic stove you'd buy today. I started out considering a 40" Wedgewood with a broiler oven on one side and a bake oven on the right but I decided that what I really wanted was a double oven model because my kitchen is on the small side and can't really accommodate wall ovens in addition to a cook top. Would probably have been happy with a 6 burner model but the fact that the one I just found has had only one owner and has been maintained nicely meant more to me. . . plus, the built in griddle looks really cool! I just ordered a newly published book on vintage stoves that is called "Old Stoves are Hot". Looks like it gives a social history on these critters in addition to a discussion on the technical developments that led to the period during which the Wedgewoods and Okeefe and Merritts were at their best: 1948-55. There is also a chapter on the subsequent period of decline in quality where all things were made and designed with planned obsolescence . . .

Ha ha, nothin' like being paged! Almost makes me feel popular :-) I'm sorry I missed your request earlier. My mantel is from Brees Mantels out of Greenville SC. I do like it a lot- everyone who comes over almost always comments on it, but I don't like the disparity with the stone on the other side- so that's why I would do something different. It has presence at over 6' tall. I would think there are local mantel people who do the same thing where you are, most likely.

For a lot of years I had rugs over carpet....the amount of crawl depends on a lot. One the direction the nap on the carpet lays, the direction of travel through the room and the lay of the rug and how you vacuum. Eventually, I bit the bullet, tore up the carpet and refinished and repaired the floors....and still the rugs creep. The one in the dining room always goes one way....leading me to believe people walk faster from the dining room to the living room than to the kitchen. the living room rug never moves....but the one in the family room always moves east.... Well....after all it IS an Oriental!
