I’ve been receiving a few emails from Studio McGee showing the design process for various rooms of this 27,000 sq. ft. Provo, UT home. Just posting for anyone who might be interested. Some of the details in my email videos were pretty crazy, such as the process to bring in the 1,100 pound marble tub (shown at approximately 7:15) This video wasn’t an email I received showing the design process. This just shows the completed home. FYI…the video’s just over a half hour.

The owner is a co-owner for Crumbl. No wonder their cookies are pricey!

Not necessarily of the same size or to the same extent of being so overdone, but there are many very large houses in the Wasatch Front. This is Utah's main metro and population belt, from north of Salt Lake City through and including the city and extending to towns and cities to the south.

Would have loved to see this in person! Interesting it's the co-owner of Crumbl. I do buy their cookies on Thursdays when they have the Thins available-I've never been a big, fat cookie fan. But, especially those Chocolate Chip Thins are the best!

Glad you all enjoyed the tour. Ike loves attention. If you stand close to his hut, which is on top of the dog hut, he reaches out a paw to touch you, hoping for petting. Ike's a good kitty. The land around here looks flat, Glenda, but it is rolling. Where we look across the field in the next to last pic, there's a drop there, more noticeable when you're looking uphill. There are ups and downs, but no real hills with red clay unless you go down in the south end of the county, or about 40 miles north. It's interesting to me to study what grows where and what affects the growth. Thanks for looking. Nell

Camden House & Garden Tour July 16

The Camden House and Garden Tour included one house/location that both my husband and I adored. Loved the colors and funky folk art. Some of the homes had fabulous new kitchens and beautiful antiques. Although most of the gardens were gorgeous, we suspected that garden maintenance is big business in the Camden area. I saw a couple of unusual, small hydrangea I would love to have but I preferred the gardens that looked like the homeowner had designed them and took care of them. Two of the gardens were on a dead end street where the garden club volunteers did their best to keep traffic moving but the street wasn't wide enough for all the cars. Otherwise, there wasn't any trouble with traffic and one location was served by a wonderful little shuttle bus.

Smile, I think you can go see a KB model Home at any time if you don't mind talking to a salesperson. They control how you go into the model home...through the sales center instead of from the street. We were able to dodge an actual person since they were all busy during the POH. We just walked through. Wynbrooke is off Strickland Road near Leesville Rd off of 540.

Another reason I’ll never set foot in crumbl! So many locally owned great bakeries I would prefer to support.

I’m distracted between understanding the intention, function, layout, and ”how’d they do that?” and the decorating, and loving the murals/mural wallpaper.

I wonder why there is a floor fan in one of the bedrooms? It’s a nice one.

Sooooo many questions.

Even moooore questions!

How do you clean a marble tub? (also, the installation reminded me of our lowly split level house bathroom remodel. Our contractor brought in a couple of extra guys to help him and his crew carry the tub up the half-flight ((a good reason for a side-split house)). It was still mostly crated. Got it to the bathroom, uncrated the rest, and ... a large flaw. Clearly happened before that tub left the factory, before it ever got crated. The contractor’s face just collapsed. This upset the whole timing for completion, which impacted his other pending jobs.)

The guys adjusting the large rug in the living room, did it by the grasping the corners. I wondered why one image showed it looking askew. Our rug guys are meticulous about rolling it up and moving the tube so it doesn’t go out of shape.

The decorator chose the books! Based on the homeowners’ interests, but that’s clearly for the covers, they won’t be read. Also re: the books, the glass door bookcase in the family room is cool, so are library ladders, but are they especially cumbersome to use with the glass doors?

Can you share more videos? I want to know about the twin pianos and a secure door! I wondered if it’s a separate entrance for piano lessons?
